Nante Electric has successfully completed and commissioned a 3,374kWh energy storage project for a large injection-molding factory in East Africa, marking another milestone in the company’s overseas green power business.
Customer Challenge
The factory’s production equipment requires pre-heating before operation and must never lose power during startup. Frequent grid outages caused equipment jams and serious production losses.
Solution
Nante deployed a DC-coupled hybrid system combining a 1,000kW rooftop photovoltaic plant with 3,374kWh of battery storage. The system runs on a PV-first strategy: solar power supplies production, surplus energy charges the batteries, and the grid or diesel generators provide backup.
At the heart of the solution is a Static Transfer Switch (STS) supporting up to 1,500kW of seamless on/off-grid switching. When the utility grid fails, the entire factory keeps running without even a blink – protecting sensitive production equipment from unplanned downtime.
Results
- Zero production interruptions since commissioning
- Solar generation covers the majority of daytime consumption
- Diesel consumption dramatically reduced, cutting both cost and carbon emissions
This project demonstrates Nante’s full-cycle capability – from design consulting and equipment manufacturing to project implementation and digital O&M.
